Phelddagrif (MTG Fan Art)

As a fan of WOTC art for Magic The Gathering, I’ve long toyed with the idea of trying my hand at some MTG fan card art.

A few years ago I challenged my fiance to find me some card art that desperately needed a modern update, and he dug up the Phelddagrif.

The Phelddagrif is a quirky, amusing, and possibly annoying card that, when played, hurts no one, and helps everyone at the table. (Free hugs for everyone!) In appearance, the Phelddagrif is... yes, that's right... a flying purple hippo!

In my take, I have transformed the Phelddagrif into a creature priestess/goddess, using a rich color scheme and opaque paint approach popular in modern MTG art.
